Moroccan Zelliges are originally an Arab craft and art form. Even today, these tiles are handmade and produced only in Morocco.
The tiles are a kind of glazed terracotta that has been used in Moorish architecture since 1300 years ago.
The tiles are fired in a special way, and the edges are then cut diagonally so that they can be joined together very tightly.
This intensive work gives each tile its own character.
A Zelliges tile has a lively surface that contains beautiful color shades.
